Update
12/22/07: Lisa and I closed escrow on a new home three weeks
ago yesterday. Thus, our Christmas gift to you all this year is a
word to the wise...NEVER buy a home between Thanksgiving and
Christmas! We missed having to move in the snow by (literally) a
few hours and this holiday season has flown by at warp speed.
However, while we still have a few odds and ends to get moved over
(hopefully today!), we are well nestled in for the winter with a
fire burning in the fireplace most evenings...so if you are ever
in the area, we hope you'll pop in for a visit.
Update 8/04/07: While some of you brought home from
the 25 year Reunion a golf shirt or a nice raffle
gift, I think I won the biggest prize of all. Classmate Lisa
Hodges (the really cute one in the photo at the top of the page) and I were married
in a ceremony along the banks of the Snake River in August of
2004. From single dad to head of The Waltons in a matter of
moments!
Now living within the friendly confines of
all-too-often-snow-covered Idaho Falls, Idaho, I am immersed in
soccer games, Cub Scouts, school activities, and bird-dogging my
two teenage girls (and their male suitors!). Lisa even has me
going back to church after a three-decade absence. Who knew that
all I really needed was a good Mormon girl in my life?
In July of 2006, I took a position with Wal*Mart Stores, Inc.,
where I am now the Grocery Features Display Manager. I'm not sure
how long before I'll tire of it and get back into the professional
ranks, but surprisingly, for now, I am having a blast.

After graduation I worked with Bill Graham Presents
(concert and event
production), then enrolled at UC Berkeley following a three-month "vacation" at
UCSB in the fall of 1979 (life-long thanks to Mark Schellman). Continued with BGP
until July of '85, then hired myself out to bands for another two years. Played the
real estate game in
Stockton and then Twain Harte from '87 to '92 when I moved to Washington State. Married in
'95, divorced in '98 (we live, we learn). In '97 opened a web design / small-business
marketing firm. In May of 2000 I took custody of my nephew, Charles,
who is now my son and one of the many joys in my life.
Post-grad Moments
The Closing of Winterland - New Year's Eve,
1978-79
This was truly the end of an era,
as one of the great
concert halls in popular music history turned out the
house lights for the final time.
The Grateful Dead and The Blues Brothers...Too much
fun and great music, until 7a.m....and then breakfast
served to more than 5,000 people! The old gal sure
went out with a bang and not a whimper...
Christmas at The Inglesby's - 1980
I had to work on the 26th and couldn't make it home for Christmas so Pat rescued me
from a holiday alone in an otherwise empty frat house. Thanks pal. One of my best ever!...
Rolling Stones "Tattoo You" Tour - 1981-82
The tour you dream of.
"The world's greatest rock and roll
band"...and on any given night, they were just that. Mick may
be the focus but don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise...this is
Keith's band. More great stories out of these 18 months than in all
the other years in this business combined.
Re-opening the Original Fillmore - May 23, 1984
There is still magic in the old room! Was cool being a very small part in
this slice of history...
Democratic Convention, SF - 1984
I had a brief but very interesting conversation with Gary Hart backstage at a
fundraiser at the Warfield. And the two nights listening to Kenny Loggins and Carole King
didn't hurt either. Secret Service agents are hilarious...
Live Aid -
London, U.K. and Philadelphia, PA - July 13, 1985
Total chaos and mayhem but too many great bands in one place to mind.
Broadcast live around the world from Wembley Stadium in London and
JFK Stadium in Philly, to more than 2 BILLION people, to raise
money to save starving millions in sub-sarahan Africa. Easily the
most important day in rock and roll history.
However, someone should have shot the MTV veejays on the spot.
Except for Martha Quinn...total dweebs.
Nicklaus Winning The Masters - April, 1986
Most emotional sporting event I ever witnessed, even if it was on
tv...
Bill Graham Memorial Farewell Concert
Polo Fields, GG Park - November 3,
1991
"Music, Love and Laughter"...with 350,000 of your closest friends.
Crosby, Stills, Nash AND Young, John Fogerty, Santana,
The Grateful Dead, Jackson Browne, Journey,
Aaron Neville,
Los Lobos, Joe Satriani. MC'd by Robin Williams.
Perhaps the greatest wake of all
time. Cheers!...
Presidential Election - 1992
Weren't we ALL better off 4 years later?...
Presidential Re-election - 1996
See '92 election...
Watching McGwire Hit #62 - September, 1999
Literally brought tears to my eyes. A very close second to the '86 Nicklaus
Masters.
Left no doubt about America's true pastime...
Election Night / Morning - November 7, 2000
The most exciting and thought provoking political event in American
history since the Lincoln / Douglas debates. I ran right out and bought a dry-erase board
the very next day...
Marrying Lisa - August 28, 2004
About as fairy tale as it gets. Whirlwind romance woven within the
cloth of putting together the 25 year reunion. In the span of a
week...moved from Washington to Idaho, settled into a new home, met
my new family and married my best friend along the banks of the
Snake River. Blessed? More than anyone I know and excited about
spending the next 50 years or so trying to deserve it.
