Campus
Culture Shock
A recent trip to California prompted a visit to the old campus.
The library, now under contruction, looks more like a soon to be completed sports
complex with a
retractable roof, than the small, quiet book haven it once was. The wooden benches
and trees in
the Quad are gone, as are all but a small handfull of lockers. The
football field has been redone and
looks fabulous, and there are several new buildings...all I assume in the name of
progress.
My how things have changed....

The Quad

The wooden benches are
gone, as are most of the
trees and the pebbled
concrete. Progress?

The
Stadium

The grass has been replaced
with "sport turf", the gravelly
track is now synthetic.
Looks great!

New PE
Classes?

These portables reside where the
old hoops courts between the gym
and the Varsity Baseball field USED to
be. Just there during the reconstruction. |

For
me, this was one of the biggest changes. The above photos are of land that
was once to the left of the Junior Varsity baseball field out behind the
science and
history buildings. What was once open field is now parking and hoop courts.
I am
told the tennis courts will soon be moved there... |
